As winter settles in and the holiday season approaches, craft breweries across BC are unwrapping their most creative and festive beer offerings yet.

Winter beers have a special magic about them. Often darker and more robust, these carefully crafted ales and stouts are perfectly designed for the colder months. But it’s not just about the comforting warmth of a dark beer: this year’s lineup balances rich, hearty styles with lighter, more refreshing options—many incorporating seasonal fruits and spices in surprising and delightful ways–plus a hefty dose of hoppy brews.

We asked breweries on the BC Ale Trail to share what they’ve been brewing up, and they delivered: we’re spotlighting over 100 exceptional beers this year, showcasing the incredible creativity and craftsmanship of our local breweries.

These seasonal brews are more than just beverages: they’re perfect for gifting, elevating gatherings with friends and family, and sharing your local pride when hosting visitors. Whether you’re searching for the ideal companion to a cozy evening by the fire or a standout beverage to bring to a holiday gathering, ’tis the season to show off the flavours and sense of place that make your corner of BC special, one thoughtfully crafted beer at a time.
