The BC Ale Trail is hosting Tasting Passports in five BC communities this November. Each of these promotions runs for a month — the idea is to collect stamps at breweries, tap houses and other participating businesses and then enter the completed passport in a draw for a chance to win great prizes. Whether you live in or nearby one of these communities or are looking for a fun reason to travel within the province, these taste exploration are a great way to experience all that these communities have to offer.

As summer turns to fall in the Kootenays, autumn’s golden larches will entice you to paddle calm waters against the backdrop of golden views, hike trails hugged in amber warmth, drive along windy roads through the caramel-kissed countryside, and sip seasonally-inspired brews.

The Cranbrook & Kimberley Tasting Passport features 15 locations in those two communities, including all three local craft breweries: the Heid Out and Fisher Peak Brewing in Cranbrook, and Over Time Beer Works and Grist & Mash Brewing in Kimberley. Once you have collected six unique stamps, hand in the passport at a local Visitor Information Centre to receive a custom enamel mug.
The amazing Grand Prize is a 2-night stay at the Prestige Rocky Mountain Resort, including a Picnic at the Peak, provided by Eclipse Helicopters and The Heid Out & Fisher Peak Brewing, along with $100 to spend at a BC Ale Trail brewery and a BC Ale Trail swag pack valued at $200. Several other prize packages featuring merchandise or gift cards from the participating businesses will also be awarded.

The Central Island Tasting Passport features 21 different businesses in the Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, and Parksville Qualicum Beach, including all the local breweries, several distilleries, a cidery, and a taphouse. Prizes include $100 to spend at a BC Ale Trail brewery, a BC Ale Trail swag pack valued at $200, and several other prize packages featuring merchandise or gift cards from the participating businesses.

This tasting passport features 11 local craft breweries along with a cidery and several beer-focused restaurants. Once you have collected six unique stamps you can hand it in to get a snazzy branded glass. Your name will also be entered in the prize draw for a chance to win the grand prize package.
