Ahoy matey! Esquimalt’s own craft brewery reflects its nautical heritage.
Founded in 1998, Lighthouse’s beers and marketing have always reflected a nautical theme. This makes good sense based on its location in Esquimalt, home to Canada’s Pacific Coast naval base. But that location has set the brewery apart somewhat from the rest of the breweries in Victoria, which form a ring around the Upper Harbour known as the Beer Mile. Plans are in the works to open a tasting room at the brewery, which will definitely make it a destination worth checking out. In the mean time, you can fill a growler or pick up a six-pack at the brewery—or look for Lighthouse beers on tap or in local bottle shops.
