What a night for BC beer! At last night’s 2026 Canada Beer Cup, British Columbia’s independent breweries and cideries brought home 69 medals across beer, cider and packaging categories, including 28 golds. That’s roughly 40% of all the medals awarded nationwide.
Leading the way, Port Alberni’s Twin City Brewing took the top honour of the night. Their Tickity Boo was named the 2026 Canada Beer Cup Champion, the best beer in the country. Smithers Brewing also earned a Best of Show bronze with Let’s Get Ready to Crumble!, and Saanichton’s Sea Cider claimed both gold and silver for Cider Best of Show.
The medals came from every corner of the province. Burnaby, Victoria, Penticton, Prince George, Pemberton, Terrace and Tofino all made the list, so wherever your next Ale Trail adventure takes you, there’s an award-winning pint close by.
Here’s a sampling of BC winners. For the full list of winners, please visit the Canada Beer Cup official website. Raise a glass, and plan a visit to taste them for yourself.
