Tucked between the Golden Ears Mountains and the Fraser River, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows are scenic, forested communities with remarkable natural beauty and vibrant towns.
Maple Ridge and nearby Pitt Meadows have plenty of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to hike or bike along nearly 200 kilometres of accessible trails, offering views of majestic mountains, rolling farmland, refreshing streams, rivers and lakes, and wildlife such as eagles, hawks, herons and cranes.
Afterwards, quench your thirst at one of the local breweries, taphouses or restaurants.
Day 1

MREC plays host to many shows and disciplines all year round, including, but not limited to: dressage, show jumping, hunters, horse trials, combined driving as well as western events such as reining and of course our monthly schooling shows.
Two sisters are continuing their family’s century-old farming traditions: using local ingredients to produce artisan cheeses, curds and more! Tuesdays are ‘fresh curd’ making day—book a Cheese Tour to witness the craft first hand.
Pitt Meadows’ sole brewery showcases one of the most diverse beer line-ups on the BC Ale Trail. Grab a pizza for lunch, or order takeout from another local restaurant to enjoy.
Stroll through, or sit and rest in the park before heading over to explore the local arts centre and gallery. Check their calendar for concerts, films, classes and live performances.
The City of Maple Ridge Town Centre is walkable and vibrant with shops, services, entertainment and recreational activities. While you are exploring the Town Centre, keep an eye out for our many public art installations and tile mosaics.
Step into the past as you enter this 1833-built two-story home that overlooks the Fraser River. Take the Heritage Walk through the garden and remnants of the orchard behind the historical Haney House.

Coastal rainforest, waterfalls and sandstone cliffs are a big draw in this regional park. Watching salmon is a popular activity at the fish-fence and the hatchery. Kanaka Creek provides habitat for a variety of wildlife, and trails for a variety of experiences.

An angler’s dream! Kanaka Creek is one of the healthiest sport fishing channels in the North Fraser Valley. Steelhead, sea-run cutthroat trout, and chum and coho salmon are all found below the 240th Street Bridge, where a fish-counting fence is located.
Take a tour at Blue Heron Fruit Winery, get some air at the indoor park Air Rec Centre, or kick back at the historic Billy Miner Alehouse and Cafe—it’s set on the same rail line that this “Gentleman Bandit” rode upon to perform his audacious train heists, albeit politely.
