FALL is our main campaign with offers running at minimum for the months of October and November, however you can choose to run them longer eg. September 1 to January, that’s up to you. We had 75 participating accommodation providers in fall 2023 and we are anticipating 100+ for 2024.

Campaign Goal:

Drive “heads in beds” and new faces through the doors of our BC craft breweries during shoulder seasons. The campaign runs year round with our largest campaign running in the fall, September to December (digital campaigns focus on October and November). In fall 2023 we had 75 participating locations around the province.

  • To be eligible there must be a “sip offer” to go along with whatever else the hotel bundles up.
    • For example, that can be as simple as a couple of free pints and an appy in your onsite lounge, a 4- or 6-pack in the room for when guests check in, and/or a voucher to spend at local breweries.
    • The BC Ale Trail will work with your local breweries to set up a voucher for a Buy One, Get One flight or pint to get guests to visit the breweries as well.
  • There are no additional costs for a hotel to participate (besides whatever you choose as your “sip offer”).
  • The recommended duration for your offer is at least two months and will be posted on our website at least two weeks before it starts.

Benefits of joining the campaign:

  1. A Sip & Stay listing on the BC Ale Trail website, and a banner ad at the bottom of the home page and your regional Ale Trail page. In the past 12 months, our Sip + Stay page has had 14k+ views and our website has had 271k+ unique visitors from around the world.
  2. A Sip & Stay listing in our mobile app (27k+ Users and growing!). Users can “check in” on the app at their location. Our app is about to be relaunched with new functionality and additional metrics (eg. outbound link clicks).
  3. We’ll send you some promo items to add to your Welcome Gift to give to guests who book the Sip & Stay (eg. BCAT branded coasters, pins, stickers, etc.).
  4. Inclusion in our social media, newsletter (6k+ subscribers), and seasonal digital campaigns. We achieved over 13M impressions across our platforms in 2023.

  • Post-campaign we can provide some basic stats from our website and mobile app.
  • It is a requirement of the program that you track your bookings. At the end of the campaign we will request that you report on # of booking and total number of nights.

To get started, please complete this form which will collect all of your information, your offer and some photos.

  • We highly recommend that the link you provide us goes to a landing page on your website (not a general booking page) that reconfirms the offer and folks can book directly from there. This helps to ensure they successfully find the deal and can book it with the code you provide.
  • We would also appreciate 5-10 seconds of vertical video from outside your location to use in our social media promotions. It doesn’t need to be fancy, edited or professional. We will edit as needed.
  • Once your form has been received, Lundy will be in touch to complete your registration. If you have any questions or issues with opening the form, please feel free to reach out to BC Ale Trail Project Lead Monica Frost.
