KPU Brewing Chemistry Basics Course

Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Brewing department is once again offering the Brewing Chemistry Basics short course from August 8 to 29 as a KPU Continuing and Professional Studies (CPS) offering.
This course teaches the basic building blocks of chemistry needed for creating and analyzing beer and is open to anyone interested in learning more about the chemical foundations of beer and brewing, whether you’re new to brewing, an avid home brewer or looking to expand your brewing knowledge for work.
Taught by KPU Brewing instructor Martina Solano Bielen (MSc), the Basics will be a combination of live online lectures and self-study. Students will be expected to study the online course content in preparation for each live class, and also complete various exercises and quizzes.
After successfully completing the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion (non-credit) from KPU.*

Brewing Chemistry Basics | ONLINE

Time: Live online classes 7:00-8:30 pm (PST)** Plus additional online modules
Location: Online (Zoom)
Price: $250 (+ GST)
Requirements:
- Access to an electronic device (such as a desktop computer, laptop, smart phone or tablet) equipped with a microphone and camera;
- Reliable access to the internet; and
- Scientific calculator (or cell phone with scientific calculator mode)
*Successful completion includes attending and participating in the live classes.
**Live classes will be recorded for students to watch at a later time.
