Caribbean Days is a free event!
Each year, during the last weekend of July, the Trinidad & Tobago Cultural Society of BC presents the Caribbean Days Festival. This event draws a crowd of exuberant fun-lovers for a weekend of parading, dining, socializing (liming) and dancing in the sunshine. This is a weekend of tropical rhythm, cuisine, carnival and culture as only the Caribbean can offer. Over the years, the Festival has grown into the largest Caribbean event on the local calendar. With up to 60,000 people attending annually, it is one of the largest cultural events of its type in BC, period.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at the Caribbean Days beverage tent, and consumption anywhere within the event grounds. That means parents do not have to separate from their children while enjoying a nice cold Caribbean or craft beer, including Coquitlam’s own Mariner Brewing.
Caribbean Days Festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, and during the Festival is home to an array of delicious food and drink. Of course this includes the flavours of the Caribbean, with famous foods from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and other tropical locations. However, there’s a wide range of food for all ages including children, and all palates from tame to adventurous.
Everyone is welcome. The crowd at Caribbean Days is fully multicultural and the event is 100% inclusive. That includes kids! The grounds of Town Centre Park are very accessible, with pathways through most of the attractions. Also, the park is dog friendly, so your pooch can attend as well!
