Inventive beer and an intriguing food menu make Hearthstone a dinner stop with a delicious difference.
Hearthstone took charge of the beautiful showpiece brewhouse at the former Taylor’s Crossing Restaurant and Brewery in 2014. They’ve put it to full use ever since, bringing an ever more inventive range of beers to market: Try the Cool Hand Cuke cucumber sour if it’s on, but don’t neglect thoroughly well made core beers like the pilsner, IPA and stout. Hearthstone’s Tap and Forno restaurant opened its doors in late 2016, offering a menu that takes pub fare outside the comfort zone: how about some popcorn with house-made bacon salt infused with hops? The pizzas, cooked in the restaurant’s forno oven – the literal hearthstone of the brewery – feature delicious and decidedly unique toppings such as salt roasted potato, cream and green onion, as well as all the usual favourites.
Taylor's Crossing Brewpub operated in this location from 2004 to 2011. After that, the restaurant closed but the brewing equipment was used to produce Red Truck's beer until it opened its big production brewery in Vancouver in 2014.
